Ronan Hugtenburg

Hi, my name is Ronan. I am a Computer Science student studying at Aberystwyth University. I am doing an industrial placement at Octophin Digital as part of my degree scheme.

My interests within computer science are UI design and web development. I have been coding since I was 13 years old. At university, I’ve been able to develop my skills and explore these subjects further. In my free time, I have participated in a game jam and some programming competitions.

Outside of my area of study I’m involved in conservation and enviromental causes. Growing up, I volunteered in nature reserves and at beach clean-ups, and was for several years a member of an eco club where we did forestry work and started an allotment on the school grounds. Currently, I am an active member of the Eco Education society in Aberstywyth, a society with the goal to educate our fellow students about enviromental issues.

I have a musical background, including choral singing and orchestral music. I also enjoy drawing and reading in my free time.
